Donald Trump, the Republican frontrunner for the 2016 presidential election, is not happy at all with Politifact's the 2015 "Lie of the Year" award. Upon receiving the title, the billionaire real estate mogul called the website "a totally left-wing group."

"You could tell something 100% and they will make it out to a lie if you're a certain person," Trump said while on Fox & Friends Tuesday.

Politifact, who awards the title to for one lie every year, explained that since all of the quotations this year came from Trump, it only made sense to include them all "into one big trophy." Politifact noted that Trump's numerous false statements also lead in its Readers' Poll.

The article begins by addressing how Trump "doesn't let facts slow him down. Bending the truth or being unhampered by accuracy is a strategy he has followed for years."

According to the website, "PolitiFact has been documenting Trump's statements on our Truth-O-Meter, where we've rated 76 percent of them Mostly False, False or Pants on Fire, out of 77 statements checked. No other politician has as many statements rated so far down on the dial."

Micahel LaBossiere, a professor at Florida A&M University also commented on Trump's campaign strategy, stating, "He makes a clearly false or even absurdly false claim, which draws the attention of the media. He then rides that wave until it comes time to call up another one."

"Republicans who support Trump either don't see his comments as lies or are so angry at the mainstream media they don't trust its fact checking or simply don't care," comedian Dean Obeidallah wrote at CNN last month. "In fact, a recent poll found that 60% of Republicans find Trump to be honest and trustworthy."

Trump has a tendency to stand by his claims even when he is being called out. In numerous instances, he has also hinted that getting the real numbers is not important.

For example, when Trump was questioned about the inaccurate murder number rates that he shared, Trump simply replied, "am I gonna check every statistic?"

Trump has yet to apologize for any of his lies.
