Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose, who has been plagued by injuries over the past three seasons, eased fans concerns about his latest injury, which he is calling "just a regular ankle sprain."

Rose sustained the injury on his left ankle midway through the fourth quarter of the Bulls - Indiana Pacers game Monday night, which the Bulls won 96-95. The 2011 MVP explained that he rolled his ankle at the 5:52 mark when he was trying to avoid stepping out of bounds. During his drive to the basket, the ball was also stripped out of his hands by Monta Ellis.

The point guard left the game and walked to the locker room without a protective boot on. He was replaced by Kirk Hinrich.

"All of it's positive," Rose said reported by ESPN. "For what I went through and all I've been through, just me playing and feeling all right after the game. Of course, my ankle's a little bit sore, but I'm just happy nothing's tore or broken. So I'll be all right... Right now, I'm able to walk on it. That's a good thing"

Rose is currently day-to-day and it is not clear whether or not he will be playing in Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns. Rose will most likely sit out at least one game as a precautionary measure.

Prior to this injury, Rose sustained an orbital fracture during a preseason practice session. He had surgery on it and has been able to play with a mask on

Before leaving the game, Rose was having a great night. He recorded 23 points, six assists and two rebounds in 34 minutes.

In 10 games so far, Rose is averaging 13.6 points, six assists and three rebounds. Despite having great moments, Rose has been dealing with a lot of inconsistency so far.

The Bulls (7-3) will be making the trip to Talking Stick Resort Arena in Arizona to play the Suns (6-4) on Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
