California-based band, Eagles of Death Metal recently released a statement on social media that they are safe after the Bataclan concert venue was attacked on Friday night.

"We are still currently trying to determine the safety and whereabouts of all our band and crew. Our thoughts are with all of the people involved in this tragic situation," the band wrote in their official Facebook page according to Rolling Stone.

Previously, drummer Julian Dorio's wife and mother confirmed that the metal group is safe from harm.

"He called to say that he loved me and he was safe. Everyone on stage was able to get off," Dorio's wife told the media.

Dorio's mother, Mary Lou, however, cannot confirm the safety of other crew members of the band.

Guitarist, Dave Catching and bassist, Matt McJunkins were also confirmed safe according to a tweets by other musician friends California band Mojave Lords and Puscifer respectively.

The band's performance in the French capital is said to be part of their European tour, however, with the absence of their front man and founder, Josh Homme, BBC said.

Though the band is yet to release an official statement, Julian Dorio's brother, Michael spoke about the band's experience when terrorists wearing black clothes stormed in the concert hall and randomly shoot people.

"He said they were playing, about six songs into the show, they heard, before they saw anything, they heard automatic machine gunfire. It was so loud, it was louder than the band, and they hit the stage floor. As they got up to try to evacuate they saw men with machine guns just shooting anything and everything in the venue," Michael said as reported by Mirror.

He continued saying that the band's vocals, Julian and other crew members managed to find the back door amidst the darkness that led them out from the concert grounds.

Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes's girlfriend is also said to have taken a video of the terrorists entering hall before one of the gunmen started shouting, "This is for Syria, this is for Syria" and started shooting concertgoers.
