The Secret Service is under fire after one of its uniformed officers was arrested for soliciting a teenager for sex.

According to the criminal complaint, which was uncovered on Thursday, Lee Robert Moore, 37, was allegedly sending naked pictures of himself to whom he believed was a 14-year-old girl living in Delaware. Instead, the minor was actually an undercover detective with the Delaware State Police.

The complaint contains detailed online conversations via "Meet24" and then another messaging service, "Kik," between Moore and the detective. The conversations revealed that Moore had allegedly attempted to meet up with the minor in order to have sex.

"Moore soon moved the chats sexual," Detective Kevin McKay wrote in an affidavit reported by CBS Philly. "He stated he wanted to travel to Delaware and meet in person for sex. Moore made it clear that he knew I was a 14 yr old girl."

A second Delaware State Trooper took over the "Meet24" account later on in the undercover investigation.

The complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for Delaware on Monday. On the same day, Moore surrendered himself in to the Maryland State Police Barracks. He reportedly waived his Miranda rights and engaged in an interview with the police.

Moore admitted to sending those messages to who he thought was a minor and to several other minors as well while working at the White House. He was charged with "the attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor" and could face up to 10 years in jail if convicted, CNN reported. His state charges included sexual solicitation of a minor and transferring of obscene material to a minor.

It is unclear whether or not Moore has hired an attorney.

The spokeswoman with the Secret Service released this statement:

"The Secret Service takes allegations of potential criminal activity extremely seriously. This incident was reported to our Office of Professional Responsibility on Friday, November 6th. On that same date, the employee's security clearance was suspended and the employee was placed on administrative leave. All Secret Service issued equipment was retrieved and the employee's access to all Secret Service facilities was terminated."
