Philadelphia kicker Codey Parkey's groin injury aggravated forcing the team to start looking for replacements available. He suffered an injury to his groin in the pre-season either during a practice session or an Eagles game against the New York Jets. The team is holding tryouts to get a replacement for Codey if in case he is unable to play against the Washington Redskins later this weekend. Parkey is all set to undergo an MRI scan scheduled for Monday, said Fox Sports.

Chip Kelly, the head coach of the Eagles team has clarified that the tryouts today are only for sake of precautions in case Codey is unable to play the game scheduled later this week. The team is only preparing for Plan B in case Parkey has to miss a game owing to his injury, ras per the latest update by Pro Football Rumors.

The reason for Parkey's poor performance so far in this season has been attributed the preseason groin injury. After series of losses, the team finally managed to score a win of the season against the New York Jets this Sunday. The win came even when the key players from the team were missing. Parkey is expected to join the team on the shelf, meaning that the team may not have the requisite number of players for their division matchup scheduled against Redskins this weekend, as reported by HNGN.

It is yet to be know if Parkey will be healthy enough to resume his game with Eagles for the weekend. The team is already planning with the tryouts to make provisions for the players in an event that Parkey has to skip this game or perhaps more until he is fit to play again, according to sports correspondent at Fox Sports News.
