Even though production for "Fifty Shades Darker" is starting early next year, the studio is not rushing to cast several key roles. Producer Dana Brunetti revealed that they have yet to hire a casting director for the sequel to "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"We're nowhere near casting. We haven't gotten into anything like that. We don't even have a casting director on it yet," Brunetti said.

He also talked about how fast casting rumors have spread since the release of the first movie.

"It's so insane. Somebody posts something on some obscure blog and then it gets picked up by something a little less obscure and it keeps going. Fans are starting the news by saying things like (the Cavill casting)," Brunetti said.

Based from E.L. James' books, which the movies are adapted from, fans can expect to meet Jack Hyde, Eleanor Lincoln/Mrs. Robinson and Leila Williams in "Fifty Shades Darker."

For months, Henry Cavill was rumored to be playing Hyde, Anastasia Steele's (Dakota Johnson) boss. The rumors finally ended when Cavill stated that he will not be joining the franchise. The rumors, however, have moved on to two other actors, Ian Somerhalder and Theo James.

Some reports claimed that Somerhalder was being pushed by his wife, Nikki Reed, to play Hyde. Reed allegedly wants Somerhalder to be known for something else other than "Vampire Diaries," the CW TV show that continues to link him to his ex-girlfriend and former co-star, Nina Dobrev. James was linked to the role after he starred in an ad campaign for Hugo Boss.

The role of Lincoln, who is the woman that introduced Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) to BDSM, has been linked to Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron for a while now. Williams, Grey's former submissive, is rumored to be played by either "Paper Towns" actress, Cara Delevingne or Alexis Bledel. Bledel, known for "Gilmore Girls," was a fan favorite to play Steele before the role went to Johnson.

"Fifty Shades Darker" will be directed by James Foley. The movie will be hitting theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.
