David Duke: Trump Is 'Certainly The Best Of The Lot' Running For President

A strange and interesting supporter of Donald Trump has emerged in the form of David Duke, the anti-semitic Ku Klux Klan militant

Recently, he said: "I praise the fact that he's come out on the immigration issue. I'm beginning to get the idea that he's a good salesman. That he's an entrepreneur and he has a good sense of what people want to hear, what they want to buy. He has really said some incredibly great things recently. So whatever his motivation, I don't give a damn. I really like the fact that he's speaking out on this greatest immediate threat to the American people. He's really going all out. He's saying what no other Republicans have said, few conservatives say. And he's also gone to a point where he says it's not just illegal immigration, it's legal immigration," said Duke.

In the early '90s, Duke was a Democrat who served for a term in the Louisiana House.

"So this is a great opportunity. So although we can't trust him to do what he says, the other Republican candidates won't even say what he says. So he's certainly the best of the lot. And he's certainly somebody that we should get behind in terms, ya know, raising the image of this thing," continued Duke, according to BuzzFeed.

However, the anti-semitic politician is distrustful of Trump's "deep Jewish connections" and support for Israel. Trump's daughter, Ivanka, has also converted to Judaism, is very religious and very strident in her support of Israel.

Having attacked President Barack Obama's administration for strained relations with the Israeli government, her Jewish background puts Trump in a different light.

Trump's views are thus suspect, yet Duke said that he was glad Trump was talking about immigration. "I don't think he's trustable ... but at the same time, great, I don't care what his motivation is on this issue, at least it's being discussed," Duke said on his program, according to cnn.
