George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin has recently been granted the permission to erect a 10-feet tall CCTV security system in their Berkshire mansion.

The plan to install the imposing CCTV system has earlier met criticism from residents as the said camera system is a 'visual intrusion' that obstructs the view of the Thames River and is also observed as a violation of privacy among neighbors.

In a recent report by Mirror, town planners have already given a go signal for the extensive CCTV system to be installed in the Grade II listed Aberlash House.

It was then approved that 10 cameras surrounded by eight wooden 18ft poles fitted with further security cameras will be installed in the nine-bedroom mansion in the next three years.

To further give the Clooneys a full view of their property, the cameras also have the ability to be tilted or panned in any direction. The cameras are further enclosed in a protective vandal-resistant dome to increase security, ITV said.

Certain changes, however, have been observed particularly in the need to decrease of the height of the two tallest CCTV support posts.

Such changes were mentioned in the amended application submitted by the celebrity couple's planning agent, Paul Butt on July 13.

The council's decision, released on Monday, August 3, has clearly stated that the CCTV system for the $10M home "would not be detrimental to the special architectural and historic interest of the listed building or its setting."

As to how beautiful George and Amal Clooney's estate is, here is what Hollywood Reporter's Alex Ritman, who has given a rare opportunity to visit their estate, has to say:

"Clooney's manor actually sits on an island between two branches of the river, an even smaller collection of estates known as Sonning Eye. Surrounded by dense, towering trees and weeping willows that droop lazily into the water, it comes with a fairly sturdy -- and undeniably picturesque -- natural security system already in place. From the opposite bank, there are only a few glimpses of the property available through the leaves, limited to the roof, while the occasional flash of yellow betrays the presence of a bulldozer (the noise of drills and hammers suggests there's a great deal of work already going on). The intermittent boats that slowly cruise past would have little idea there was even a house there, let alone one with A-list celebrities within," Ritman said as mentioned by Designtrend.
