Nick Jonas and Kendall Jenner Dating News: Singer says they are not a Couple

Nick Jonas and Kendall Jenner are still on the market!

The 22-year-old "Chains" singer clarified the recent rumors that he and the 19-year-old supermodel were in the early stages of dating.

"We're not dating," Jonas said to E! News

 while promoting his new single, "Levels." "Kendall is great and naturally with her being good friends with Gigi [Hadid] and with Joe [Jonas] and Gigi dating, there are times we'll be in the same place and we all hang out."

The rumors claimed that Hadid, 20, had set them up after she started dating Nick's older brother, Joe.

Jonas, who just got out of a two-year relationship with Olivia Culpo, the 2012 Miss Universe, added that even though he is opened to hanging out with someone, he is not interested in a relationship at the moment. He stated that he will be keeping potential romances "light and casual" while focusing on his career.

"I'm trying to take the time to walk out this next phase of my life and be single the right way," Jonas had said at the time of his break-up. "I [also] like being able to work as hard as I want. I'm incredibly driven and with all the projects I have going on, they take up a lot of my time. I like to work hard and just be as focused on work as possible."

A source allegedly close with the singer said, according to the Mirror that the duo has been hanging out.

"Nick and Kendall are hanging out, but it's nothing that serious, as Jonas just got out of a relationship and isn't looking for anything major at the moment. He is really focusing on his career at this time," the source said.

Since Jonas and Culpo ended their relationship, Jonas has been linked to former flame Selena Gomez and singer Tinashe.

Jonas has been working on "Levels," the first single from his second album.

"It's a fun song to sing, but it's a hard song to sing because of the high notes," Jonas said. "I fell in love with it as soon as I heard it. It was the perfect way to sort of cut a new path for me while still touching on some of the older sounds. I love the soul and the R&B elements that it has, but also the dance vibe. The funk side of things was really big for me."

The singer will be performing the song during the MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show. He will then kick off his tour on Sep. 6.
