A husband from Wisconsin showed everyone what true love and devotion is.

Don Jaquish spent hours planting sunflowers on nearly 400 acres of land in honor of his late wife, Babbette, who died last November from cancer.

"She's always loved flowers, but sunflowers were her favorite," Don said. "They fit her personality. She'd walk into a room and her smile would light up a whole room."

The sunflowers were planted a few miles southwest of Eau Claire along Wisconsin State Road 85 and takes up space from five farms. The farm owners had given Don permission to rent their land at whatever cost Don thought was fair.

"They all loved her," Don said. "There wasn't anyone that ever met her that didn't love her."

Now, when people pass by, they can witness the beauty of the flowers, which span four-and-a-half miles long.

"It's a 'wow' when you see it," said Jill Schoen, Don's stepdaughter.

Another one of Babbette's daughters, Jenny White, said, "I couldn't fathom until I actually saw it how beautiful it is. We wanted it to be a statement of love. It is an enormous beautiful sight. And that's just like my mom. That's what she did with her life."

The sunflowers, however, are not there just for show. Their seeds will be harvested and sold to help support people diagnosed with cancer. The bags will also commemorate Babbette by putting her smiling face on the packaging.

"She was a pretty modest person and I'm not so sure she'd want her picture on the bag," "but she's such a beautiful woman. She didn't really know how beautiful she was, inside and out."
