"Games of Thrones" showrunner Dan Weiss has made it very clear that Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, is dead, but why are all of the signs suggesting otherwise?

In the season finale, fans watched as the men of the Night's Watch stab one of their favorite characters. In the heartbreaking scene, Snow falls to the floor where his blood starts to pool around him before the scene cuts to the credits. In response to the scene, Weiss and Harington have stated that Snow is dead.

"Dead is dead. We would hope that after seeing the scene and the way it's shot that the answer to that will be unambiguous in the minds of the people watching it. It should be pretty clear what happens in by the time you're done seeing that scene. It's not an 'Oh, what just happened?' scene," Weiss told EW.

"I'm dead," Harington said. "I'm not coming back next season. So that's all I can tell you, really."

Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, also shut down reports that Snow could be back.

She told MTV News, "Jon Snow is dead, and you need to get over it. That's my answer to everything. People are like 'no, but there's still hope!' And I'm like, 'if you carry any hope... you're going to be disappointed.'"

Despite these statements, fans have hope, especially now that Harington was spotted in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where the show's production offices are located. Several members of the cast have already arrived in Belfast for the season 6 table read.

Of course, however, Harington can also be back to film his funeral scene, like Charles Dance did for his character, Tywin Lannister or he could be in town for personal reasons. But, until Harington tells fans otherwise, people will continue to speculate that he is returning to the HBO show.

In the shot that a fan was able to get (published on the show's fansite, Watchers on the Wall), Harington still has his full head of hair. The actor revealed in the past that for his role, he must keep his hair long. He had said that once he can cut it, he would. Since Harington has yet to chop off his locks, people are also hoping that it is sign that Snow is not dead.

Unfortunately for us fans, we will not know Snow's fate until season 6.
