The latest James Bond movie, Spectre, may be released a year from now but rumors as to who will be the voice behind the movie's soundtrack have been piling up. Days after Sam Smith denied that he has signed a contract for it, Ellie Goulding posted a cryptic post on Twitter further fueling excitement from fans who love to hear her voice in the new 007 movie.

"Live and let die," the British songstress posted on July 9.

A photo of her happily working at a studio also caught her followers' attention.

"Joe caught this moment where we got really excited so much so that I couldn't sing."

The singer, however, did not reveal the context of her message.

Fashion and Style speculated that Ellie's post is related to a song by Paul McCartney and his band Wings that has been featured in a past 007 movie.

Even with no formal announcements yet, fans of the 25-year old singer have been dying to see their favorite singer perform for the James Bond soundtrack, Standard UK said.

"If this is James Bond related I love you even more."

"Hope this so means the theme song for Spectre."

Days ago, Grammy Award winner Sam Smith confirmed that he is not singing for Spectre.

People seem to think I'm doing it, but I have no idea what's going on. I'm being deadly serious. I think I would know by now ... I heard Ellie Goulding was going to do it," the soul singer shared during an interview at Capital FM.

Several artists like Lana del Ray, Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora and One Direction have been rumored to be considered for the position.

Meanwhile, the Love Me Like You Do singer, is said to be spending a lot of time in the studio in recent weeks working on her third album, Mail Online said.

"The album's going well. I'm just trying to take my time a bit more, this year my focus is solely about getting my record finished," she shared in another interview at Capital FM.
