Jared Fogle became famous 15 years ago when he lost 200 pounds on the "Subway Diet." Fogle claimed to eat nothing but Subway sandwiches for months and still managed to shed pounds. His story took off and his increasing fame caught the attention of the restaurant chain Subway. Eventually the company hired him as their official spokesperson and Fogle appeared on Subway commercials and several campaigns launched by the restaurant chain.

Years later, Fogle started the Jared Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting childhood obesity and promote healthy living for children, according to their website.

The organization came under public scrutiny this year when the authorities arrested the former director Russell Taylor in a child pornography case. The charges against him included possession of child pornography as well as producing such material. Fox59  reported that there were more than 500 videos of child pornography found at Taylor's home.

After Taylor's arrest in April, Fogle had said that the Jared Foundation had cut all its ties with the director. Later, Taylor reportedly attempted to kill himself in jail, without success.

Fogle's Zionsville, Indiana house was raided by the authorities early Tuesday morning.

Although authorities did not confirm that Taylor's arrest and the search of Fogle's home were linked, Fox59 reported that Tuesday's raid was also a part of a child pornography investigation which might increase the possibility of such connection.

Officials from both the FBI and Indiana State Police participated in the raid. More details are expected as the investigation still continues.
