Some of the HTC fans were disappointed when the Taiwanese manufacturer opted for a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution screen on its One M9 flagship instead the 2K trend. However, it is planning to make up for it by launching a new smartphone, One ME9 with 2K resolution display.

Unfortunately, the yet-to-be launched smartphone might not be available in all markets, according to latest rumors.

A new GSM Arena report stated that the new device will only be available in South Asia, particularly India, while Hong Kong and Taiwan were mentioned and confirmed.

According to rumors, the HTC One ME9 is almost like the One M9+, except that it boasts a polycarbonate back, and a single 20MP Toshiba sensor at the back.

Other rumored specs of the One ME9 include 5.2-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in memory with a microSD card slot, 2,900mAh battery.

The smartphone will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and will feature Sense 7.0.

The HTC One ME9 is expected to cost about $565 when it becomes available.
