While promoting Mad Max: Fury Road, Tom Hardy cannot help gushed about his wish to be part of the Marvel Universe in an interview with The Collider.

Collider: "I heard Warner Bros. has a few more superhero movies, maybe one or two that they're developing [Laughs]."

HARDY: "I want The Punisher... I want The Punisher, or Splinter Cell, I want something...I don't know what I want."

The British actor, however, pointed out a characteristic that might hinder him from getting the role.

"I'm not big enough to be The Punisher, I'm 5'9" [Laughs]," Hardy said.

The news source approve of The Dark Knight actor's thoughts saying he has the intimidating characteristic fit to be an antihero. Further, though he is shorter than the 6''4 tall Ray Stevenson, the source cited that there are shorter actors who fared well on screen.

In his recent movie project Mad Max: Fury Road, Hardy played the role of Max Rockatansky.

"In this wasteland, I'm the one who runs from both the living and dead. A man who is reduced to a single instinct: Survive," Hardy said in the trailer as reported by E! Online.

Meanwhile, the actor hinted that he is currently working on a project with DC Comics and is not completely out from the comic hero world despite earlier decision to take an exit from Suicide Squad, a report from Comic Book said.

"I actually got something cooking with Warner Bros. which is also a comic book, it's a DC thing which is kind of... It's really good actually, it contains elements of all kinds of stuff. From Ocean's Eleven, to Batman, you can get all the wrappers out and it would be a big, really cool, Technicolor, Pulp Fiction...It's a psychological f**kfest, it's absolutely awesome. It's as if you would take Transmetropolitan and make it happen, but it's not that out there it's something which is much more real world. It could be like Heat, it could be f**king awesome. Let me tell you what it is, try and guess."

Tom Hardy declined his role as Rick Flag in Suicide Squad as he was facing conflicts in schedules.
