Grammy-award winning singer Frank Ocean's request to change his name legally has finally been approved, according to reports released Thursday.

According to TMZ, the Long Beach, California singer born Christopher Edwin Breaux has changed his birth name to his stage name, Frank Ocean. A judge reportedly granted the 27-year-old's request for a legal name change in Los Angeles on Thursday (April 23).

He filed to legally change his name to Frank Ocean in March 2014. According to the report, driver's license issues held up the name change until now.

In more exciting news, Ocean announced a new album coming this July. The album is rumored to be titled Boys Don't Cry, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

The follow-up to Ocean's 'channel ORANGE' allegedly features guest contributions from producers Hit-Boy (Kanye West, Jay Z, Eminem) and Rodney Jerkins (Michael Jackson, Destiny's Child).
