Many people may remember Kate Upton's "Cat Daddy" video which catapulted her to stardom. However, after the video was released on YouTube, she was mortified and was angry at the man who released it - director Terry Richardson.

might have sped up her trajectory to fame, but when the supermodel was doing that silly dance in her bikini, she had no idea it would be seen by millions of people.

The 22-year-old model admitted to Vogue UK she was "horrified" after Richardson released the racy, one-minute dance clip on his blog in 2012, saying she thought the two were merely having some behind-the-scenes fun.

In mere days, the video -- along with the "Cat Daddy" dance itself -- went viral, attracting 21 million plus hits on YouTube since its release. Despite the instant success of the behind-the-scenes clip, Upton, 22, was not happy at the time with Richardson, 49.

"I was like, 'That was disrespectful, you could have told me!'" Upton told the mag about having words with Richardson later.

After a brief ban by YouTube because of its supposed explicit nature, the video went on to rack up more than 22 million views and the rest is history.

Meanwhile, Richardson does not take credit for Upton becoming a famous celebrity: "No. Kate was born a star."
