Mischa Barton, known for her role as Marissa Cooper in The OC sued her mother Nuala Barton for alleged unlawful management of her earnings, using of the actress' name for her own business ends and ousting of her own daughter from her own million-dollar-worth home in Beverly Hills.

Defame Gawker mentioned a report from TMZ saying that Nuala Barton, who also acted as her daughter's manager, has lied about her income so that she can put some of the undeclared money to her own pocket.

"In the docs, Mischa says Nuala told her she was being paid a certain amount [for the upcoming film The Hoarder] but eventually found out from the production company her salary was higher than that number. She says Nuala took the difference for herself ... and also took a 10% management fee."

The actress-product endorser also claimed that her mother used her influence and name in building a shop in London and a handbag line. Further, it is said that Nuala never shared the proceeds to her daughter.

"Nuala did not compensate Barton for the use of her name, image and likeness, nor did she share in any of the profits from these ventures with Barton. This is all despite the fact that the businesses were built solely on Barton's fame and popularity," Barton's attorney Alex Weingarten wrote in the lawsuit as reported by Sky News.

Further, Fox News said that Nula kicked out the actress from their multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills which is said to be built from Mischa's income when she started out as a child actress.

Ownership of the said home is also being questioned as Nuala is alleged to 'rig the paperwork' so that she could legally co-own the mansion that contains 8 bedroom and 11 baths.

In a report, Alex Weingarten described Nuala Barton as 'a greedy stage mother' who uses her daughter's earnings.

"This action arises from the tragic tale of a greedy stage mother posing as a talent manager who, instead of acting in the best interest of her daughter/client, schemed to defraud her unsuspecting victim. From the outset, Nuala positioned herself to siphon her daughter's hard-earned money by purportedly acting as her talent manager-a role for which Nuala had absolutely no experience or training."
