Jamie Dornan is willing to go to extremes for his roles.

The 32-year-old Irish actor revealed that he stalked a woman on the subway in preparation or his role as serial killer Paul Spector on the Netflix crime show, "The Fall."

Dornan told the Los Angeles Times, "The first series, I did do a couple of things to try to get inside [his mind]. On the tube, which is our underground system...Can we get arrested for this? Hold on ... this is a really bad reveal: I, like, followed a woman off the train one day to see what it felt like to pursue someone like that."

Dornan added that he followed his target for a few blocks after she got off of her stop but kept his distance. Despite how creepy the situation was, Dornan stated that it did help him get into the mind of Spector (watch his full interview below).

On the crime thriller, Spector is a father and a husband who ties up women before he kills them during his free time. The show follows Spector's life while at the same time, Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson, played by Gillian Anderson, is conducting an investigation with the goal of catching him.

"It felt kind of exciting, in a really sort of dirty way," Dornan said. "I'm sort of not proud of myself. But I do honestly think I learned something from it, because I've obviously never done any of that. It was intriguing and interesting to enter that process of 'what are you following her for?' and 'what are you trying to find out?"

This is not the first time Dornan used method acting. For his role as billionaire Christian Grey for "Fifty Shades of Grey," Dornan admitted to visiting sex dungeons in order to understand the BDSM world of dominants and submissions. In the romance film, "Fifty Shades of Grey," Grey introduces Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) to BDSM and tries to get her to agree to be his submissive.

"The Fall" will return for its third season, which is expected to air next year.
