Google has launched a new online store where it will sell products like Chromebooks, Nexus devices, wearables and other hardware.

The new store, called Google Store, is exclusively for all hardware, unlike Google Play Store that included apps, music and movies.

store.Google.com - a new home for the latest products made with Google - also provides information about newer technology like Android Wear, Nexus Player and Nest.

Google noted that for years it had been selling all its products through its single online destination and with the expansion in its products line, it was time to split the store and have a separate hardware section.

Customers who have recently purchased a product via Google's Play Store will have their orders automatically transferred to the new store.

Google also announced an updated and more powerful Chromebook Pixel that comes with the latest USB Type-C all-in-one port for power, secondary screen and storage. The new Chromebook Pixel will be the second device after Apple's newly launched MacBook to sport the new type of port.
