Tips on Raising Pokemon Happiness in Sun and Moon

Certain Pokemon only evolves through the Friendship method in the game. Fans have found a way to raise a Pokemon's happiness at a much faster way.

According to Bulbapedia, Friendship refers to how the Pokemon is attached to its trainer. Friendship affects a lot of factors in Pokemon. Friendship affects the power of certain TMs (Technical Machine) like Return and Frustration and evolutions of certain Pokemon. Aside from this, players can also get items and ribbons for your Pokemon. The recently released Pokemon Sun and Moon used this method to evolve some of the Pokemon found in the game.

Pokemon Friendship can be increased by leveling them up or walking on a certain number of steps and can be decreased if the Pokemon is constantly fainting. Friendship plays a major role in evolving "baby" Pokemon such as Pichu, Munchlax and Riolu. Eevee evolutions such as Espeon and Umbreon also requires Friendship in order to attain them. Fans who have been playing Pokemon Sun and Moon have found a way to quickly increase a Pokemon's happiness.

Thanks to Reddit user Leafeon111, here are the tips in raising a Pokemon's happiness:

Find two TM's that your Pokemon can learn
Replace one of their moves with one ^TM
Replace the move taught with one TM with the other ^TM
Repeat step 3 for 5 - 10 minutes
Level up your Pokemon (by battling to increase its exp points or use Rare Candy)

Players who have tried out this method reported that the method works perfectly well and got their respective Pikachus from a bunch of Pichus. Aside from this method, the Pokemon Refresh Mode makes players play with their Pokemon to increase their Friendship meters. Pokemon Refresh Mode is similar with PokemonAmie. Petting them will increase their happiness, albeit little than the method mentioned above. Regardless of what method players use, as long as the friendship meters of their Pokemon increases, players can unlock certain Pokemon evolutions that can only be achieved through this method.

Pokemon Sun and Moon was released in North America on November 18 and in Europe on November 23.
