The recently telecasted HBO series "Westworld," which is a sci-fi thriller, became an instant hit and people are eagerly waiting for its remaining episodes. The series is based on a 1973 movie of same name and has got the highest viewership rating. The plot of the series happens in a technologically advanced amusement park called Westworld in an unknown future date, where people can enter as "New Comers" or guests by paying sky-high entry fee. They would be welcomed and hosted by lifelike androids. The guests are allowed free to do whatever they want on hosts, which include torturing, murdering etc. The plot suddenly changes when the hosts became unpredictable due to an update and started getting self-awareness. Also the hosts reciprocate the tortures on guests.

The plot is very original considering the development of science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in particular. The consequences of AI have already been spoken by many. What if AI become too intelligent in the coming years? Some very smart people have already answered it. Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk, Nick Brostom and Bill Gates have opposed the advancement of AI. "The development of full artificial intelligence may end the human race," Stephen Hawking said in a BBC interview. "It can initiate its own and update itself at an ever increasing rate, which humans can't do due to slow biological evolution."

"Westworld" also points out to the potential implications of cruelty shown in video games. The cruelty shown by Ed Harris' Man in Black reminds that it can cascade into anyone, who is using violent video games. The level of violence in GTA V and Modern Warfare 2 can be quoted as perfect examples to this. People should make conscious efforts to avoid violence if they play violent games, cited Kotaku.

The new HBO series "Westworld" is brilliant and brings a lot of thoughts while watching it. That imaginary world may give solution to some of the real problems of humanity.
