Psyconix, the developers of the popular multiplayer game Rocket League, recently released a teaser video to introduce a new mode for the upcoming version of the game.

Though speculation has been on the rise since March, Psyconix's latest piece of information offers much more clarity about the newly minted mode. According to PC Gamer, the tweet posted by the developers contained an announcement that the upgraded version would be released in April and added a video clip showing how the new mode will function.

Fans of Rocket League are excited about the new upgrade because it is built around the concept of basketball. Since the game has always been a competitive multiplayer platform, centering the new mode on a team based sport is easy to comprehend. Speculation surrounding the gameplay of the new mode is very high as fans await the release of the update accompanied by a new map.

The map depicts a basketball court complete with the key, the hoop and the backboard. However it is evident that the hoop is too large. The reason behind offering a bigger hoop than necessary is highly debatable as it could either be an important part of the gameplay or a glitch that needs to be sorted out.

The new release of the upgrage teaser has also led to many discussions among sports aficionados. Suggestions regarding inclusion of other sports like golf and tennis are also prevalent in the gamer universe. Because it is designed as an open-ended game based on Physics, anything can be tweaked by Psyconix to enhance the current mode and to bring in new ones.

Other features of recent upgradations of the game include addition of the Batmobile from Zack Snyder's new blockbuster, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Additional vehicles were features from Gears of War and Halo also. Psyconix has also announced plans to set up cross-platform play in the new future, giving gamers more reason to rejoice.
