The abuse of Loperamide, the main ingredient found in anti-diarrheal drugs, is currently on the rise as opioid addicts pop in pills in high amounts in order to get high. Amid a growing opioid addiction in the US, doctors are pressuring US authorities to regulate the sale and distribution of non-prescription over-the-counter medications like Loperamide and even regular painkillers.

Anti-Smoking Pill Not a Threat to Mental Health

A study recently published in the medical journal Lancet suggests that anti-smoking cessation drugs like varenicline and bupropion are now considered safe by experts in a large international research commissioned by FDA. The two drugs, marketed as Pfizer’s Chantix and GlaxoSmithKline’s Zyban, are extremely restricted due to ‘Black Box Warning’ printed on their labels.
