NFL Rumors: League Returning $723,734 to US Government for Paid Military Tributes

After controversial media exposure of the so-called ‘paid patriotism’, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell vowed to return $723,734 taxpayers’ money used to pay teams for sponsoring on-field acts of military tributes. The scandal came about following reports of defense budget allegedly misappropriated for paying sponsored military tributes by professional sports teams instead of spending it on training and recruiting.
