OckTV conducted a social experiment to assess the reactions of people who saw a homeless child on the street. While most people just walked by without extending a helping hand, many of them did not even notice that he was there.

The whole scene was staged by Ock TV, still, it brought out some appalling reactions from New Yorkers.

There was just one homeless man who helped the freezing child after he wrapped himself up in a garbage bag and lay down. At first he was ignored by most of the people who just sauntered by, even though some of them saw him and seemed to want to help him, according to inquisitr.com.

He told the boy that homeless people need to support each other. "You're young. You can have a good chance," the man said.

The boy's brothers eventually walked up to the man and gave him money and hugs all around for his goodness. The man burst into tears at the end of the video.

The message of the video was clearly written at the end of the video: "If you wait until you can do everything for everybody instead of something for somebody, you'll end up doing nothing for nobody."

The video was posted on Facebook on February 23, after which it went viral, with about six million views.

However, not everyone has totally supported the generous act. Emily Arata, in elitedaily.com says: "Instead of manufacturing a scenario, the team could have brought attention to a real man and his daily struggle."

She also notes that "New Yorkers may not be nice, but in my experience, it's rare for a homeless person to go completely unaided in subway stations or on the side of the street."
