The newest update for the hit game Destiny has gone live, fixing a number of technical issues and changing a few elements of gameplay.

Bungie says that with this update, Patch 1.1.1, developers have addressed one of the largest player concerns. That concern was the fact that when players equipped gear that allowed them to carry more ammunition, they would lose ammo upon respawning after death.

The new patch means that players will no longer lose ammunition when respawning in gear that allows players to carry extra ammo.  The patch also fixed a glitch where players could not use their ammo packs if their inventory was full.

The damage and mechanics of a number of weapon classes were also changed. Auto Rifles lost 2.5 percent of their damage ability, and will now be less effective at long ranges.

Pulse Rifles had their damage increase by 9.7 percent, while Hand Cannons had their range and first shot accuracy, "slightly reduced."

Perhaps the most dramatic weapon change was the change instituted for Shotguns. Shotguns received a damage boost of 100 percent for all activities that are not player vs player.

Another major change involves the Weekly Heroic Strike. Those strikes, which previously did not provide matchmaking, will now enable matchmaking for all three difficulty levels.

The games in game stat tracking also got an overhaul. The character menu will now display a player's rank progress for the Vanguard, Crucible, and various other factions such as Dead Orbit.

The patch will also affect Xur, the trader who only appears on the weekends. A glitch where Xur would not always offer engrams when he appeared in the Tower.
