The famous character Pee-wee Herman will be making his return to television. Netflix announced today that a new Pee-wee Herman movie, titled "Pee-wee's Big Holiday," which will be produced by Judd Apatow and Reubens, will debut on the world's leading online TV/movie streaming website.

"Judd and I dreamt up this movie four years ago. The world was much different back then: Netflix was waiting by the mailbox for red envelopes to arrive. I've changed all that," Paul Reubens who plays Herman said according to Rolling Stone. "The future is here. Get used to it. Bowtie is the new black."

Apatow added, "As a fan of Pee-wee Herman since he first appeared on The Dating Game, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the brilliant Paul Reubens on this film. It is a dream come true."

"We didn't hesitate for a moment knowing that 'Pee-wee's Big Holiday' was such a passion project for Paul and Judd and we are delighted by the opportunity to introduce such a beloved character to a new generation," Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said. "We are thrilled to bring our viewers around the world the wonder of Pee-wee Herman."

John Lee will direct the movie, which starts production next month. Reubens and Paul Rust reportedly wrote the film. The movie will follow Herman on his first-ever vacation after he encounters "a mysterious stranger."

Reubens, 62, played Herman on the popular TV series, "Pee-wee's Playhouse" from 1986 to 1990. Before the series, Reubens brought the character to the big screen in "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" movie, which debuted in 1985.
