Model-actress with Down syndrome, Jamie Brewer, paraded her beauty in the runway for Carrie Hammer "Role Models Not Runway Models" fashion show during the New York Fashion Week.

The fashion show is meant to inspire women from all walks of life to be the best in their respective careers, Carrie Hammer said in an interview with USA TODAY Network.

"We feature incredible influential women on the runaway. CEOs, executives, activist, actresses, anyone who is the top of the field, top of their game. Jamie is an absolute star. Jamie has this beautiful figure with a small waist. A-lines really compliment that," Hammer commented further saying that she got the idea of the American Horror Story actress' black A-line outfit in the runway from that horror movie.

Hammer also made a strong fashion statement on her fashion show a year ago as she included her friend, Danielle Sheypuk, a woman in a wheelchair, to be in the runway, Today.com reported.

"I called up my existing clients who were all incredible women and one of them happened to be a doctor and a sex therapist who happened to be in wheelchair.  It was never intended to be this incredible statement," the fashion designer said.

The fashion show is said to have received lots of positive feedback with Hammer receiving hundreds of emails from people who got inspired from it. One of the emails was from Katie Driscoll, co-founder of Changing the Face of Beauty ( a non-profit organization) who praised Jaime Brewer.

On her email,  Driscoll addressed Brewer saying, "Thank you for being the change that is long overdue. I could literally cry every time I read an article talking about your decision to include a model who just happens to have a disability! YOU are what this world needed!"

Meanwhile, in a separate interview with TIME, Hammer is said to be looking forward to expand her inspiring fashion show around the world.

"I think this blows everything away. This is, I think, what people have been wanting to see, and everyone's positive reaction is overwhelming," she said.

Jamie Brewer stars as Addie in "American Horror Story: Coven," and Marjorie in "American Horror Story: Freak Show." She is also an activist and is participating in groups fighting for people with mental disabilities.
