Even before its release, Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 is engaged in a war of specs and prices with Apple's yet to be released iPad Air 3.

The last launches from both tech giants have done exceedingly well in terms of sales. While Microsoft posted an unexpected bump in revenue from Surface Pro, Apple too earned a sweet $ 8.9 billion from iPad and iPad Minis. So which of the future releases will shine, wonders Latinos Post.

The Surface Pro 4 is likely to be released in two screen sizes but it is not known whether the screen will feature a higher resolution than Surface Pro 3. A RAM upgrade is likely given regular upgrades made in the past to new launches.

The moot point is whether or not the Surface Pro 4 will be powerful enough to take on Apple. It could be powered by Intel Broadwell chips which are said to be more energy efficient compared to Haswell processors powering Surface Pro 3 but not as powerful. Given that iPad 3 Air will feature a chip upgrade, it is likely that Microsoft will power its new launch with a processor that packs enough a punch.

The icing on the cake could be Windows 10. If announced before the third quarter of the year, the device could ship with Microsoft's latest Windows offering and steal the show, according to Christian Post.
