Years after the release of its last sequel, Indiana Jones is here again for loads of adventure. However, reports said that the 72-year old Harrison Ford may not be in the latest sequel of Indiana Jones 5. Instead, Chris Pratt will be taking his role.

The plan to revive the Indiana Jones film franchise has been started since 2013 with Disney, now buying the movie's copyright from Paramount films, according to Deadline. Further, Screen Rant said that Disney will be working with Lucasfilm with Disney's CEO Robert Iger saying that the decision to produce a new movie about Dr. Jones' life has been a 'cautious' move that they have made.

Earlier reports said that American Sniper star, Bradley Cooper, has been eyed for the role as he is the studio's favorite. But recently, the possibility of Chris Pratt taking the role is getting louder than ever.

The actor's rendition of Star Lord's role in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is said to be the leading reason that made him as the top bet for the Indiana Jones role, according to Fashion Style.

ABC News, further, enumerated reasons why he qualified for the role. The report said that Pratt is very spontaneous in delivering witty lines in his previous movies, a characteristic needed for the Indiana Jones role.

The 35-actor is also said to be part of the Disney family and thus would not have difficulty in getting similar roles.

The announcement for being the next Indiana Jones also got the vote from other Hollywood celebrities who expressed their approval on Twitter. Sarah Hyland and Josh Gad are one of those who posted Tweets saying the role suits him well.

Amidst rumors, Disney Chairman Alan Horn said that the next Indiana Jones will be released in 2016 or 2017.
