The nine-year-old girl who accidentally shot her shooting instructor in Arizona last week told her mother that the gun was too much for her, a new police report has revealed.

Charles Vacca, an instructor at the Last Stop shooting range in Arizona was accidentally shot by the girl when she lost control of the automatic Uzi.

The new report was released by the Mohave County Sheriff's Department Tuesday, reports The Washington Post.

One of the important things which the report reveals is that the girl said that the gun was too powerful for her immediately after firing the weapon. She also said that the she was hurt while using the weapon.

According to the range instructor, Vacca had shown the girl how to fire the gun. After that he helped her in firing a couple of rounds. Finally, he allowed her to try it singlehandedly. The girl began firing but after some rounds recoil occurred and the gun went straight up in the air. Vacca was shot on the left side of the head. The video of the entire episode, which was shot by the girl's mother, showed Vacca setting the gun to automatic mode, reports The Washington Post.

The girl's father told the police that after his daughter fired the Uzi, she held her shoulder and he thought that she was injured.

He also said that the family attended to her without knowing that Vacca was shot.

The girl's mother told the police that after firing the shot her daughter said, "The gun was too much for her and it hurt her shoulder."

Upon realizing that Vacca was wounded, the girl's parents took the children to a restaurant close by so as to prevent them from seeing what was unfolding.

The family of Vacca called the shooting a tragic accident and said that they felt sorry for the girl and her family.

"We don't want their life to revolve around this," Vacca's daughter Ashley said, reports The Washington Post.

The girl's family also issued a statement on Tuesday saying that they were devastated by Vacca's death.

"Words cannot express the family's sadness about the accidental shooting of Charles Vacca. They prayed day and night that he would survive his injury, and they continue to pray for his family during this terribly difficult time. The family also asks for the public's prayers for their own family," the statement said, reports CBS News.
