Cyanogen has a new fan and its Microsoft. The Redmond-based company is planning to become a minority investor in Cyanogen, according to a new report.

Two companies are in negotiations to create a version of Cyanogen's image that features Microsoft's services, Bloomberg reported.

"Microsoft may invest in Cyanogen and strike a commercial partnership, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private. The companies are discussing deal terms, though Microsoft hasn't committed to an investment, the person said."

The news follows only a few months after Cyanogen refused a Google buyout offer, supposedly because it wanted keep "a truly version of Android alive."

None of the company is talking about the deal and it's yet not lucid how big the Microsoft's investment may be.

Microsoft already has a Windows Phone, but it's not exploding. WP has just 3% market share compared to Cyanogen which has more than 50 million users.
