Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch definitely knows how to give a performance both on the field and off.

Lynch, who does not like to talk to the media, made an appearance during the annual Super Bowl media day. Despite making himself available for the reporters, as requested by the league, Lynch answered every single question with some variation of the sentence, "I'm here so I won't get fined."

According to a league source cited by ESPN's Ed Werder, the NFL had threatened to fine the 28-year-old $500,000 if he failed to show up to the press conference held at the US Airways Center.

Several reports stated that once Lynch sat at the podium, he set a timer on his phone and caught a bag of Skittles tossed by someone in the crowd of nearly 200 reporters. After giving the same answer over and over again, Lynch ended the press conference by declaring "time." He then stood up and left. Lynch ended up staying for four minutes and 51 seconds, which is more than one hour less than the interviews his teammates and coaches gave.

Although the league might not like Lynch's performance, his former teammate, Golden Tate definitely approved.

During this past November, Lynch was fined $100,000 for not speaking with the media. A few days after that fine, Lynch spoke with the media and answered almost every single question with the word, "Yeah." In December, Lynch answered reporters' questions with some variation of "Thanks for asking" and "I appreciate you asking."

Lynch will be expected to attend the Wednesday and Thursday sessions and will face fines if he chooses to skip them. As a part of the league's media policy, all players have to make themselves available for the media.
