On the night she took home an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Julianna Margulies also discussed some of what fans can expect in Season 6 of "The Good Wife."

In an interview with TVLine, she talked about following up Season 5 - widely believed to be the best season of the series by far.

Margulies said she doesn't want the creators (Robert and Michelle King) and the writers to try to top Season 5. However, maybe they should try to create something "different" than the fifth season.

"I was so nervous about it and I said to Robert and Michelle, 'we'll never get what we had but we can do different - but don't try and out do yourselves because that's just silly,'" Margulies said.

The Emmy winner also discussed Alicia's love life. Last season we watched as that love life became non-existent following the death of Josh Charles' Will Gardner.

Margulies admits it's still going to take some time for Mrs. Florrick to get back on the dating horse.

"I think by the middle of the season it would be great if she had a great love affair and I think she needs to not be with Peter," Margulies said. Despite Margulies desire to see Alicia step away from Peter in a romantic manner, she still thinks the two characters need to maintain the mutually beneficial relationship.

"However, politically, both of their careers need each other," she said. Margulies adds "it's a very interesting year because we're playing a real Bill [Clinton] and Hilary [Clinton] storyline and it's so much fun."

In other "The Good Wife" news, fan favorite Elsbeth Tascioni is retuning. Carrie Preston is bringing her beloved character back for the sixth season. According to Entertainment Weekly, there's no official report on the amount of time Elsbeth will be on the show in Season 6.

"The Good Wife" returns Sunday, Sept. 21 at 9:30 ET on CBS.
