Graphic tees have been a wardrobe staple for decades for a reason - they look great, they're comfortable, and they're available in a wide range of designs and styles to suit every taste.

And there's so much more you can do with your graphic tees besides just wear them with jeans. You can wear graphic tees in a hundred different ways. Glam it up with a tailored pant and sexy stilettos. Wear one under a blazer for a day at the office. Pair one with a leather mini-skirt, and you're ready for a night on the town. Here's how to style a graphic tee for any occasion.

Layer It with Structured Outerwear

Graphic tees are perfect for layering - tees with minimalist designs or only text work especially well when layered with a blazer or other outerwear. Something structured, like a blazer, will lend structure to the tee. A cardigan is perfectly cozy for brisk fall days. Or you could hark back to the golden age of grunge and wear your graphic tee under an open flannel button-down.

Choose a Different Neckline

The round neck is clearly the most popular choice of neckline for t-shirts in general, but it's not the only one. A v-neck tee is easier to dress up than a round-neck tee because the neckline automatically looks a little more formal. Same goes with the turtleneck, but a v-neck does allow you to showcase a nice necklace or a layered necklace look. Turtleneck graphic tees are great for blustery winter days, and a lot more interesting than your standard black, beige, gray, and navy fare.

Crop-top It (Sort Of)

You don't actually want to cut off your graphic tees. Not only is it a permanent change that you might not want to inflict on your favorite tee, but you also run the risk of cutting it crooked so it doesn't look right.

You can easily faux-crop your graphic tees instead. Tuck the shirt tail under and up into your bra for an easy, and easily reversible, crop-top look. Or channel your inner 80s girl and tie up the bottom of your graphic tee.

Tuck It into Wide Leg Jeans

Of course, you can wear your graphic tees with any pair of jeans, but if you're wearing them with today's high-waisted, wide- and straight-leg styles, your tees will look best tucked in. Tucking a tee into a high-waisted pair of jeans will accentuate your own waist and make you look slimmer. Add a thick belt to further delineate your waistline.

Pair It with a Skirt

A skirt of any length can look great with a graphic tee tucked into it. Grab a short leather skirt for a night out clubbing with the girls, or a flowing, longline skirt for a relaxed day at the beach. Accessorize a short skirt with heels that show off your legs, or wear flats with a long skirt.

Glam It Up

Can a t-shirt be glamorous? Sure, why not? Glam up your favorite graphic tee with a pair of tailored slacks and coordinating stilettos. Add a belt, jewelry, a designer clutch, and a red lip to complete the look.

Go Monochrome

Wearing the same color head to toe can make you look taller if you're petite, and can make your graphic tee outfit look more put-together. Choose bottoms the same color as the background color on your tee. If your graphic tee is white, wear it with white pants or a white skirt. If it's black, wear it with black. Make sure your accessories coordinate.

Wear It Under a Corset Belt

One of the biggest drawbacks of wearing a loose-fitting tee is that it hides your figure. Bring your waistline back to the fore when you wear a corset belt over your graphic tee. This look works best if your tee's graphics are printed high enough on the fabric that they won't be obscured by the corset belt.

Add a Scarf

It's often the accessories you wear that really pull an outfit together. Add a European flair to your look and add a scarf to your graphic-tee-and-jeans ensemble. A small cravat tied Girl Scout-style lends an outdoorsy touch, while a large pashmina double-wrapped around your neck brings a touch of Parisian elegance to your look.

Wearing a graphic tee doesn't have to be boring or low-effort. Graphic tees can go with anything, and with a few of the right accessories, you can look your best at work and play.
