The rash of high-profile hacks and digital breaches have made people worry about their online privacy, but what about non-digital threats? If an identity thief obtains sensitive information, it doesn't matter how they learned it.

It doesn't always take much information for an identity thief to cause you real damage. If they string together a few facts, they could use it as leverage to blackmail you or drain your bank account.

Thankfully, ensuring tangible forms of personal information are destroyed has never been easier. All you need to do is call a professional shredder.

Paper Shredding, Made Easy

Industry leaders don't just fully and securely destroy your sensitive data - they make doing so simple. If you call an elite document shredding company they will be able to eliminate your sensitive paper documents right from the curbside in their mobile shredding truck.

They'll come right to your location, and you won't even have to lift a finger. If you have a significant quantity of shredding you need to be carried out, the company should still be able to come to you. But they'll transport your sensitive papers in a secure truck to their facility, where they'll be totally and safely destroyed.

The best companies do one-time pickups, but you can arrange for a regular weekly or bi-weekly pickup as needed.

Destroying Electronics

It's all too common for people to own electronic devices with enormous storage capacities. Sometimes these devices get obsolete quickly as a new and improved version hits the market, and you set the old device down one day and pay it no mind.

Or perhaps you have old electronics laying around the home because you simply don't use it anymore. If this device fell into the wrong hands, an identity thief could wreak havoc!

Here are electronic devices that professional shredders commonly destroy:

- Smartphones
- Laptops
- Tablets
- Photocopier and printer memory cards
- USBs and Flash drives

It's essential to pulverize the microchips on these devices, so whatever data they once stored can't possibly be retrieved. Then and only then has the electronic been safely destroyed.

Issues sometimes occur in workplaces between former employees who may depart on bad terms. If there's a professional situation between a potentially disgruntled employee and their boss, shredding their electronic devices is a sensible security measure.

But even if you have electronics lying around the home that you haven't used in a long time, don't merely throw them into the garbage. An identity thief could get their hands on it one day, and they'd be able to freely browse the device for personal information.

Don't let the wrong people get your contact information, address, bank account info, passwords, or other information commonly stored on electronic devices. Instead, call the professional shredder.

Keeping things confidential has never been more critical in an age where hacks and data breaches seem all too common. The good news is, non-digital identity theft can be combatted easily - all you need to do is call the professional shredders.
