"The Discovery" is a new Netflix film and has just released its trailer. The new film is described to be part sci-fi and part live story. The events in the film happen a year after an afterlife has been proven.

According to a report, Robert Redford portrays the scientists who have successfully proven about the afterlife in "The Discovery." He deals with his son, Will (Jason Segel) who is not sold out on the idea of an afterlife. Will then falls in love with Isla (Rooney Mara) who is also trying to grasp everything about the afterlife.

This latest trailer for "The Discovery" gives a glimpse on what the film is about. There seems to be more explanation about the afterlife in the show. The film that will be streamed on Netflix is directed by Charlie McDowell.

McDowell already did well with a small scale sci-fi show in 2014 titled "The One I Love." The Discovery is another sci-fi work from the same director and the trailer shows that a love story is incorporated in the film.

A report indicated that Netflix acquired the streaming for "The Discovery" ahead of its Sundance Festival premiere. There is going to be a journey in the mysteries of life after death in this new Netflix film. The film is produced by Alex Orlovsky and James D. Stern.

Other stars to be part of "The Discovery" are Riley Keough and Jesse Plemons. Aside from the director, McDowell is also co-writing the story for the film. He is in collaboration with Justin Lader. The film also gives a description on how afterlife is a possibility.

The film's synopsis indicates that some people commit suicide in order to visit the afterlife faster than the others. However, Dr. Harbor who is portrayed by Redford scientifically discovered that life after death is real in "The Discovery."

"The Discovery" streams on Netflix on March 31.
