An Ohio bartender has been arrested on charges that he plotted to poison the Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner.

WCPO Cincinnati reports that 44-year-old Michael Robert Hoyt was a bartender at an Ohio country club John Boehner regularly frequented for more than five years.  Hoyt sought to poison the Speaker's drink with cyanide because he felt Boehner was mean and disrespectful to him at work.

Hoyt also blamed the Speaker for the Ebola virus outbreak which has been ravaging West Africa and claimed thousands of lives.

The plans to kill Boehner seem to have their origin in mental issues stemming from Hoyt's firing from the country club in late Oct. 2014. After he lost his job, Hoyt said he began to hear voices from his car and home radio speakers.

The voices told Hoyt that Boehner was the devil and he had to do something about it.

The plot did not get too far, as Hoyt called the police because he feared that he would be attacked by unknown assailants. When the police arrived, Hoyt explained how he had lost his job, heard voices, and planned to kill Boehner.

This is not the first mental health episode that Hoyt has suffered through. Two years, ago he was also treated for a psychotic episode, according to WCPO.

Hoyt received medication after that incident, but stopped taking it after 6 months.

A police search of the house turned up a handgun and a list of country club members' names. The police also found an assault rifle magazine, but Hoyt's mother had surreptitiously removed the weapon from his home after noticing a deterioration in Hoyt's behavior.
