We never thought we'd get what we've dreamed of for years but here it is. A sequel to the science fiction classic Blade Runner is now coming to theaters!

Blade Runner 2049 trailer now available. A trailer for the sequel, entitled Blade Runner 2049, is now available for viewing on the web. It is the first of many expected trailer for this much-awaited sequel to the 1982 science fiction classic.

From the almost 2-minute long trailer, we know that Harrison Ford will be reprising his role as Rick Deckard, the first film's titular character and that Ryan Gosling's K will be this film's main protagonist.

Little is known about the film since the trailer doesn't give away the plot at all, which is good. We can, however, expect an atmospheric dystopian Los Angeles just like the first film and a dramatic encounter between Ford's Rick Deckard and Gosling's mysterious leather-clad K.

According to Alcon Entertainment's official synopsis of the film, Blade Runner 2049 is set 30 years after the original film and follows LAPD Officer K (portrayed by Ryan Gosling), the new blade runner, who finds an ancient secret that could plunge the remnants of society into pure chaos. This leads K on a quest to find Rick Deckard (still played by Harrison Ford), a blade runner who has been missing in action for over 30 years.

A lot of today's science fiction films owe it to Ridley Scott's 1982 Blade Runner. Excitement over its sequel is slowly growing.

Scripted by Michael Green along with Hampton Fancher from the original film, the sequel is directed by Denis Villanueve, who also directed 2015's Sicario and this year's Arrival. Blade Runner 2049 also stars Mackenzie Davis, Jared Leto, Dave Bautista, Carla Juri, Barkhad Abdi, and Robin Wright.

Catch Blade Runner 2049 in theaters on October 6, 2017. For now, get a first look at the trailer that's making us want more.
