The rumors were wrong. Niantic Labs still wants Pokemon GO on the Apple Watch.

Early this weekend, a leak of an email from Niantic Labs began circulating online, spreading word from an alleged representative of the studio that the team has decided to call it quits on porting Pokemon GO on the Apple Watch till the demand for the game on the Apple device increased. Apple's promise that Pokemon GO would make its way to the Apple Watch was one of the most exciting highlights for Pokemon Gamers when Apple had its keynote event back in September, and so when rumors came out that Niantic was stopping the Pokemon GO Apple Watch port, many were confused.

Thankfully an official spokesperson has confirmed that the studio is still developing Pokemon Go for the Apple Watch and that they'll be releasing more information on the project soon enough. Niantic also announced on its official Pokemon GO Twitter account that the game was going to make its way to the Apple Watch soon, a line which could mean that the Apple gadget would be getting Pokemon GO sometime in December or January next year.

Meanwhile, in other Pokemon GO news, as the app faces a sharp decline in interest from gamers, a few fans are suggesting come changes to keep the game's competitive edge. While most of the discussion of Pokemon GO gamers as of late have been about the Gen 2 Pokemon and Legendary Pokemon, Forbes insists that the best feature that the game could bring in is a new team - Team Rocket.

Pokemon GO has three teams to choose from, Team Valor, Team Mystic and Team Instinct. By adding Team Rocket to the game to face off and have random challenges, Niantic and the Pokemon Company would add even more excitement to the popular app. The publication suggests that the game could randomly spawn encounters with Team Rocket in the wild, giving gamers rewards if they beat the villainous members of the team.
