Recently, the internet went crazy with the release of the new "Sense8 - A Christmas Special". The show is returning for its' second season in an unusual way.

Unusual and peculiar is a constant theme on Netflix's sci-fi, drama series. This time, it continuously shows the viewers just how bizarre things can get with its two-hour Christmas special which will premiere on the 23rd of December.

For those who have not caught up with the show yet, it's one of the best science fiction shows today. Sense8 is about eight different people strangers to each other (starring actors Tuppence Middleton, Toby Onwumere, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Max Reimelt, Brian J. Smith, and Tina Desai). The characters suddenly find themselves mentally connected.

This strange connection between these people affect each other's lives. The characters also find deeper connections with each other as they learn one's darkest secrets.

Some fans find it a little bit out there that "Sense8" will be aired for a Christmas Special when the show itself is not naturally fit for the holiday season. However, the recent trailer of the show suggests otherwise.

In the video below, fans can watch as the show enter a theme of togetherness and family. The trailer does show a different level of holiday spirit.

For those who are still unsure with this, Sense8 co-creator and director, Lana Wachowski released a video with a holiday message for the fans. In the video below, Wachowski also explained to the fans how a Christmas Special episode would tie into the show.

Netflix has recently confirmed Lana Wachowski as the director of every episode on the show's second season. Aside from the Christmas Special, Sense8 season 2 will have 10 episodes.

The show's second season will officially kick off on Friday, 5th of May next year. In the meantime, fans can binge-watch the show's first season, and wait for the Christmas Special.
