Apple's iPhone 7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 are undeniably two of the most popular smartphones this year. This is why consumers in consideration of a new phone are stumped on which device they should buy. Here's a comparison of the devices' features, specs, and price to help you with your choice.

According to Forbes, both handsets have a strong Series 7000 aluminum chassis. Both of the iPhone 7 and the Galaxy S7 are endowed with water and dust-resistant features.

The Galaxy S7, however, is equipped with a higher rating of IP68, which is a point higher than the iPhone 7's. That allows Samsung's device to be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. The iPhone 7 can be submerged for 30 minutes, too, but only in a meter of water.

As for the size, the iPhone 7 is smaller and lighter at 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm (5.44 x 2.64 x 0.28 in) and 138 grams. The Galaxy S7, in contrast, measures 142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9mm (5.61 x 2.74 x 0.31in) and weighs 152 grams.

The Galaxy S7's OLED panels are better than the iPhone 7's LCD. With the former, the device's display is crisper due to the high pixel count.

Apple's iPhone 7 excels with its new 'taptic' sapphire home button than the Galaxy S7's plastic home button. The iPhone 7's external audio also tops the Galaxy S7's muffled speaker, but Samsung's device has better battery capacity (3000 mAh for the Galaxy S7 and 3600 mAh) for the Galaxy S7 Edge.

The iPhone 7 offers a jet black color, but Forbes advises consumers against it. The new color variant is prone to scratches and fingerprints, and that kind of hassle may not appeal to many users.

When it comes to processors and performance, the iPhone 7 is equipped with an A10 Fusion chipset and 2GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S7 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset and 4GB of RAM. The Galaxy S7 appears to be the clear victor here, but Forbes stressed that iPhone 7 came out on top in this aspect. The latter has an "unbreakable silky smooth responsiveness" that's needed for multitasking.

Both the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 have a 12MP primary camera. But the Galaxy S7 is more capable of producing richer and detailed photos than Apple's device.

Apple's iPhone 7 and 7 Plus can be bought starting from $649 and $769, respectively. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, in contrast, are worth around $670 and $780, respectively.
