"Girl Meets World" Season 3 cancellation updates reveal that Disney Channel still has not renewed the series for Season 4. Even the show's cast do not have any idea about the network's plans for the show after it airs its finale episode titled "Goodbye" in January 2017.

In a recent interview with Sabrina Carpenter, the actress admitted to Teen.com that she has not heard of anything from Disney Channel about the fate of "GMW" Season 3. Carpenter, however, reassured fans that they are still going to air three more episodes before the season concludes on air.

"No, we do not [have an updated]," she explained. "We have been so lucky to work on the show for the past three years and we don't know what's happening yet."

Carpenter, like other "Girl Meets World" Season 3 cast, explained the show's importance to the audience in an interview with Bustle. According to Carpenter, the show has always been about her character, Maya, and her best friend, Riley (Rowan Blanchard).

Their friendship is the main focus of "Girl Meets World" Season 3 despite the fact that they have been involved in a love triangle with Lucas (Peyton Meyer) in the past. Carpenter said that they are lucky because they get to explore different topics on the show and serve as the voice of their generation.

Being on Disney Channel, however, some topics would have to be toned down. This is one of the reasons why several viewers are wishing to see "Girl Meets World" Season 3 renewed on another network such as Freeform.
