The wait for Sense8's second season has been quite long for the fans. For the meantime, let's all revel in Sense8's Christmas Special.

Sense8: A Christmas Special. The second season of Sense8 is set to be released on May 5, 2017. That's 5 more months of waiting. We have Netflix to thank for an awesome Sense8 Christmas present though to keep us happy in the meantime.

In just a few more days, we will be treated to Sense8: A Christmas Special. The special is set to be a 2-hour long episode. A trailer has already been released and it doesn't give out much of the plot, which is good.

The Sense8: Christmas Special will be all about the eight sensates' collective attempt at celebrating Christmas despite trouble from Whispers, the show's main antagonist. Based on the scenes from the 2-minute long trailer, we see sensates mentally joining together for activities from doing tai chi to going to church service and a whole lot of action.

Sense8 centers on 8 strangers across the globe that discover that they are sensates, humans linked together by a mental and emotional connection. This enables them to communicate with and sense each other apart from being able to share knowledge, language, and other skills.

This Netflix series' reception has been generally favorable. The first season reportedly has a 92% audience approval rating. All the excitement for the second season comes as no surprise since we were treated to an amazing first season.

The first season was brought to us by the Wachowskis. The second season will only see the return of Lana Wachowski in the director's chair with help from co-creator J. Michael Straczynski.

Get ready to be treated to a great Christmas from Netflix's Sense8. The Sense8: A Christmas Special will officially debut this coming December 23, 2016.
