All the fans have been waiting for the release date for the Frozen sequel since the rumor broke out in May 2015. The original date was 2018 but now new rumors have surfaced that we may see the long awaited Frozen 2 as soon as the end of 2017.

We know frozen has started production and Kristen bell confirmed she will be voicing Anna when asked if the recording of the Frozen sequel had started, "We haven't, actually. I thought we were about to start recording, but I was mistaken. So, we haven't begun yet. They're putting the finishing touches on the script,"

A late 2017 release date is difficult if they are still putting the finishing touches on the script. It is a tight squeeze for a 2017 release. The 2018 date seems more likely.

There are no confirmed storylines. Movie News Guide has reported Elsa will find love and Olaf will also will have a love interest. However, according to the Telegraph , there has been a lot of pressure from fans for the love interest for Elsa to be a woman. This maybe because the LGBT community feel that the song Let It Go was a metaphor for coming out. If this indeed does happen the Elsa will be the first openly gay character.

Other theories are that; Anna may find her own powers like Elsa's. There is even a theory that the King of Arendelle, survives the shipwreck and returns home. He comes to the palace and the guards do not recognize him and he is sent away but is reunited with his daughters at the end of the movie.

A few changes have been made in Frozen Fever, the short film. For merchandising sake, Anna and Elsa's dress has changed and they added the snow babies. It's likely, for the purpose of selling more merchandise, Disney will change the dresses again.

There are so many possibilities and directions Disney could take. the pressure is on to live up to the original Frozen.

The central characters are all set to return. Idina Menzel voice of Elsa, Kristen Bell voice of Anna, Josh Gad voice of Olaf and Jonathan Groff Voice of Kristoff
