After a long wait, Niantic Inc. has finally released a new update for “Pokemon GO”. Just recently it has announced that a whole new set of pocket monsters will be added to the current roster of “Pokemon GO”. Familiar pocket monsters have been released just today.

Niantic Inc. has revealed a new update that included pocket monsters that were pulled out from the second generation “Pokemon Gold” and “Pokemon Silver” video games. “Pokemon GO” users can now go and look for Pichu, Togepi, and other new pocket monsters. But there is one catch.

According to Niantic Inc., this additional pocket monsters can only be availed or captured through hatching eggs and these eggs can only be acquired through pokestops. So get ready to store on those egg incubators because there clearly will be a lot of incubation happening. The developer has not revealed just how many pocket monsters were updated but there are already a handful of new ones recognized.

Aside from Togepi and Pichu, there have been at least five more new baby pocket monsters identified. Mageby, Elekid, Cleffa, Igglypuff, and Smoochum have been added to the roster and they evolve into Magmar, Electabuzz, Clefairy, Jigglypuff, and Jynx respectively. Togepi does not evolve into anything but Pichu, of course, turns into the beloved main pocket monster, Pikachu. Baby pocket monster Tyrogue is also available now and can evolve into Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop.

Aside from the new pocket monsters, Niantic Inc. has also further announced that starting today until Dec. 29, they will also be releasing a special edition version of Pikachu, who wears a hat to celebrate the holidays. Just recently, Niantic has announced a partnership with Sprint and Starbucks, which opened up thousands of Pokestops and gym all over the United States. Aside from that, Starbucks is currently serving a limited blended beverage called “Pokemon GO Frappuccino” to commemorate this collaboration.
