The Scarif DLC is considered to be the last for the Star Wars Battlefront game as DICE is said to be moving forward with Battlefront 2 next year. Producer Paul Keslin gives an update on the game, and he says that it will finally have the Campaign Mode that a lot of fans were looking for.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Keslin says, "Myself as a Star Wars fan, I want story, I want narrative, I want something I can play that immerses me in that world but gives me something to follow and chase...That's actually what inspired us with the Death Star DLC and this - how we do add a bit of narrative to the multiplayer game? We know that players want that, we're not able to give them a full-fledged campaign post-launch for Battlefront, but how can we scratch that itch a bit? It's been received okay - I think some people appreciate it. We're trying to address as many things as we can."

One of the major complaints that fans have was that Battlefront didn't have its own Campaign Mode, so a lot of people were stuck just playing multiplayer. The original Star Wars: Battlefront games followed their own stories which provided for a satisfying single player mode. Hopefully fans will be pleased with what the developers have to offer when Battlefront 2 comes out.

Keslin has also admitted that Star Wars:Battlefront was received with a mixed response, and DICE is keeping their ear to the ground when it comes to the community's complaints on the game. Will Battlefront 2 finally have seamless battlefield-to-space transitions?

With the first Star Wars Battlefront game focusing more on the timeline of the original trilogy, Battlefront 2 will be taking place in the newer age of the saga that was introduced in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." That could mean that players will be able to use new heroes like Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is expected to come out in the fall of 2017.
