The idea of remastering the original game "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" came about as a result of a strong clamor from the fans of the series via an online petition. And now that it all came to fruition, the gamers of the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" are getting their money's worth with more free update coming their way this December.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" DLC Release Date & Other Details

"One of the most critically-acclaimed games in history, 'Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare,' is back, remastered in true high-definition, featuring enhanced textures, rendering, high-dynamic range lighting, and much more to bring a new generation experience to fans," wrote Activision Publishing, Inc.

And to make things even better, the highly-anticipated remaining maps will come as a present for this season of giving. Apart from the 10 original maps of the "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare," six more will be made available for free on Dec. 13, 2016, says GameSpot.

The new maps (Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike, and Wet Work) will also be delivered with a couple of new game modes (Gun Game and Hardpoint). And finally, another holiday-themed Winter Crash map will also be part of the package.

How Can Gamers Avail of the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered"

The video game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" can only be availed by purchasing the Legacy ($80), Legacy Pro ($100), and Digital Deluxe ($100) editions of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare." Currently, it can't be owned separately from "Infinite Warfare."

As of this writing, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" is available at a markdown price of $60 at GameStop for the Legacy edition, and for the same price at Target for the Digital Deluxe edition.

The "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" can be played across the different major gaming platforms--- Sony's PlayStation 4, Microsoft's Xbox One, and PC. The video game developer Raven and executive producer Infinity Ward are the team behind the digital restoring of this "Call of Duty" classic. Check out the trailer below.
