Recently, Funimation, Toei Animation, and Adult swim have revealed that Dragon Ball Super English dub will be part of Adult Swim's Toonami lineup starting 2017. Adult Swim will premiere Dragon Ball Super's 1st season on January 7, 2017.

Naturally, the whole first season of the show will air during the Toonami block in the weeks and months to follow after its release. According to IGN, Toonami will also be airing another Dragon Ball series in January.

This time it's the "Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters". Fans might remember that this particular series focuses on the Buu Saga. Unsurprisingly, this will also air on January 7 next year.

On the other hand, Dragon Ball Super spoilers for episodes 70, 71 and 72 reveals that a new villain will arrive on episode 71. Episode 70 will be the last filler episode before this happens.

With that said, showrunners promises both episode 69 and 70 to be just as entertaining. According to recent spoilers, episode 71 will bring about a new arc which will introduce a new rival.

The said rival is rumored to be the mastermind behind Goku's assassination. Fans of the series might have already guessed this enemy to be Hitman Hit. In the spoilers, it was said that Hitman Hit will be the one to kill the fan-favorite Dragon Ball Super character.

Despite Goku's popularity, fans are still looking forward to just how Hitman Hit will execute his plans. According to Inquistr, Hitman Hit and Son Goku's rematch will happen on episode 71 and 72. The synopsis for the episode reads:

"At someone's request, the strongest assassin in the universe mobilizes!! The target is somehow our very own Son Goku!! Will Goku be able to uncover the true identity of the assassin, and can he be triumphant against them?! Don't miss out on this heart-pounding, exciting development!!"
